About Us

Minister: Revd. Danny Paine-Winnett

Danny joined NWCC in December 2017 as a part-time Minister, and joins us with a wide experience of work and ministry. Danny completed his training at Regents Park College, Oxford (2000-2003) and has a passion to connect to those outside the church by engaging in spiritual questions. He also encourages those inside the church to do the same!  Danny firmly believes that Jesus is the most radical leader in history and his teaching and life are as relevant now as ever. He believes that the Christian church needs significant change to enable it to be fit for purpose in the decades ahead.  Danny has four main areas of expertise : Biblical teaching (based on original languages and cultures), personal evangelism, discipleship and leadership development.

Danny also serves as Chair of Trustees at Weeke Community Centre (where the church meets). He has been married to Linda for more than 25 years, and they have two grown up sons.

Jonathan MuttonAssociate Minister: Revd. Jonathan Mutton

Jonathan has been a member of NWCC  for many years, He joined the ministerial team at NWCC in 2007 and has a wide experience of working with children and young people in both church and educational settings.  Jonathan trained for the ministry at Regent’s Park College, and brings creativity and passion into church life!

Jonathan is married to Julie and they have two grown up children.

Mark Wheadon

Elder: Mark Wheadon

Mark is a founding member of NWCC and has served in the church in many capacities during this time. He currently coordinated the Men’s Walk and Breakfast and supports the running of many church activities. Mark loves reading and teaching the Bible. He also loves Jaguar cars!

Mark is married to Lisa. He has two grown up children and two grandchildren.

Secretary: David Simpkin

David took up the post of church secretary in May 2019. He brings many organisational, as well as spiritual gifts to the role.

David has been involved in the arts world for many years and is well known in Winchester and in the creative industry networks. He puts his creative skills to good use in the church, leading and producing the hugely popular annual pantomime.

terri_gTreasurer: Terri Gambrill

Terri has many practical,  administrative, creative and  spiritual gifts. She has worked education for many years, assisting young people with their learning. Terri enjoys overseeing the church finances, and works closely with the church council team and others to support the running of the church.

Terri is married to Carl. She has a busy family life including two children and two grandsons.

Assistant treasurer: Julie Mutton

Julie has many years of experience in finance and is a founding member together with her husband Jonathan. Julie is a gifted musician and also enjoys tending her allotment and enjoying the produce!

North Winchester Commnity Church is a Christian church and a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB) – a mainstream denomination.

It was established in 1991, and grew out of Winchester Baptist Church,
