Welcome

Welcome to North Winchester Community Church.  As our name suggests, we are a fellowship who love being part of the north Winchester area, which includes the estates of Harestock, Weeke, Teg Down, and Barton Farm.

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

We all want to see this stamped out as soon as possible. NWCC, like all other churches, organisations and most businesses won’t be physically meeting for the foreseeable future. All gathering will be taking a break until further notice. This includes Sunday services, Matinee Film Club, Cinema Club 49, The Friday Service, and home groups.

However, we will be meeting online and keeping in touch by phone and similar means. Please check below for the latest information.

Reverand Danny Paine-Winnett as ChaplainLisa, Jonathan and Danny have started at Winchester hospital as volunteer chaplains. Winchester Magazine have written a great article featuring an interview with Danny about this amazing opportunity to serve. our community.

Sunday Meetings in May

During May we will be sharing faith and fellowship in a variety of ways online via Zoom! We would love you to join us! Please contact us for connection details.

3rd (Zoom, 10:30am) Danny will be speaking on With a welfare state and the NHS, why do we still need a saviour?

10th (Zoom, 10:30am) an opportunity to encourage one another. We are looking for short stories, poems, pictures, or other creative ways of expressing where or who we are in God right now. How have we found ourselves closer or further away from God in this season of disruption? What have we newly discovered about God? Also, if there is a song (perhaps a worship song?) that captures the sense of this then please feel free to suggest. If you can let Danny know the gist of your story/input, and any song, or any other input you want to make around this by Wednesday (6th), please, then he will curate and work out the details.

17th (Zoom, 10:30am) David Simpkin leading on the theme of: Lost and Found (John 21)

24th (Zoom, 10:30am) Lisa and Mark leading on the theme of: Where is God when it hurts?

31st (Zoom, 10:30am)

Prayer and catch-up

Each Thursday evening at 7:30pm (to about 8:30pm) there will be a Zoom meeting to catch up and spend some time praying for each other.

Our Church Gatherings

We meet on most Sunday mornings at 10.30am at Weeke Community Centre. On some Sunday mornings we meet in different ways, check back in to see what is coming up.

Being based in a busy community centre gives us an opportunity to focus on fellowship rather than the furnishings you might find in a traditional church building!

Our meetings are fairly informal and open to all. Our worship usually includes a mix of new songs and traditional hymns. We provide activities for children and young people, and love to welcome visitors. There is no dress code!

We also meet during the week- visit our Faith page to find out how you can get involved!

Our Community Activities

We run a variety of activities on weekdays, and everyone from the community is welcome to join in. Please do visit our community page to find out more about our activities.

If you have any questions, please do contact us. We would love to hear from you!
