Cinema Club 49Cinema Club 49 shows films for young people aged approximately 5-13 years old. The club is generally held once during each half term and full term break, so about 6 times a year. We start at 3:30pm and finish at 5:30pm. Cinema Club 49 is held at Weeke Community Centre in Taplings Road. Owing to the type of video licence we hold, we are not able to advertise the title of the film, or make a charge of any kind. We produce a leaflet which goes to local schools about a couple of weeks in advance, and this will say which company produced the film and what the rating is (U or PG). If you would like to know which film it is, ask at church on a Sunday (also at Week Community Centre, 10:30am), or phone 884769. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay during the event, and we provide a break part way through when we have fruit juice and (nut free) popcorn, and tea or coffee for adults. Suggestions as to which films to show are always gratefully received! We generally do not show films that have recently come out, as we think this will still be fairly fresh to most, so we aim for titles that are about 2-4 years old. If you are around during the day, then we also run Matinee Club for adults under the same video licence. |
